E-waste management

     How E-waste create:

E- waste is an  electronic waste like
mobile, tablet, camera, laptop, tv, video game, charger, electronic item parts etc. that we throw in garbage when they are not useful to us i.e. called E- waste or Electronic waste.
Every day in electronic market many new electronic item launches daily and purchase them without any reason.
About 95% of india's E- waste recycled in the informal sector and in a crude manner.

United Nation (UN) report on E- waste:
A report presented by the United Nations on the E-waste in world economic forum on January 24, 2019 points out that the waste stream reached the 48.5 MT in 2018 and the figure is expected to double if nothing changes. Only 20% percent of global E-waste is recycled.

Effect of E-waste on Environment :

1. E-waste is nonbiodegradable.
2.  It makes the soil barren and poisonous.
3. The main reason is that e-waste contains several toxic chemicals like mercury and lead which are detrimental for humans as well as for the environment.
4.Landfilling releases these toxic chemicals into the environment, affecting the atmosphere and triggering severe health problems.

Solution for the problem of E-waste:

1. Sell your old electronic items.
2.Donate used electronic items to those who are unable to purchase them and they can be anyone like your friend, neighbour, relative.
3.When you purchase a new gadget first of all evaluate that you really need it or not.
4.Don't through rechargeable batteries in open areas because it contains lead and other toxic items which are not good for our environment.
5.Know about your local recycling options of electronic items.
6. Proper disposal and recycling are the best solution to save our environment.
